Monarch pricing: Core vs Plus

Monarch Plus is $199 a year and is sold annual-only, so there is no monthly option. That sits on top of Core pricing rather than beside it in the sense that Plus includes everything Core has; you are not choosing between two separate products. Monarch offers a 7-day trial of Plus on desktop web before you commit to the year.

Core covers budgets, cash flow, goals, net worth, connected accounts, the AI assistant and household sharing. Plus keeps all of that and adds four things: forecasting with net worth projections and scenario modelling, business tracking with a separate P&L and Schedule C export, deeper investment analysis through Morningstar fund data and gains and losses reporting, and a couples will through Trust & Will.

For most people, no. Plus is aimed at someone running a business, side hustle or rental alongside personal finances, or someone who wants to model future scenarios rather than track current ones. If neither describes you, Core does the job. The exception is the estate documents: Monarch values that will at $299, so if you needed one anyway, Plus pays for itself.

The core plans cost the same: $14.99/mo or $99.99/yr, both with a 7-day trial. The difference is what's included. At that price Monarch is a tracking dashboard; Planned includes a personalized financial plan, a financial health score, and an AI coach. Human coaching is a separate Planned tier: a coach over messaging at $49/mo, or 1:1 with a CFP® professional at $199/mo.

Not as part of a subscription. Every Monarch tier includes an AI assistant, and Monarch also maintains a directory of independent advisors, planners, coaches and tax pros you can search and hire at their own rates; Monarch states it takes no incentive from the professionals listed and makes no specific recommendations. So Monarch will point you toward a human, but the advice is a separate relationship you pay for yourself. Planned's Coach plan includes messaging with a CFP® professional, Mon–Fri with under 24-hour responses, and a monthly 30-minute video call in the price. The Messaging plan offers a human coach over messaging alone.

Breadth of tracking. Monarch supports three data aggregators, includes free partner access, and has the most complete web dashboard in the category. If you mainly want to see everything in one place and don't need planning or coaching, Monarch is a genuinely good tool.
