Facet pricing: Core, Plus and Complete

Facet charges a flat annual fee instead of a percentage of your portfolio, starting at $2,600 a year. Here is what each tier buys, who genuinely needs the higher ones, and, since we sell a competing service, how Planned compares further down the page.

Facet's three tiers, and what the extra buys

Facet has three membership tiers, all billed as a flat annual fee with no percentage of assets and no stated account minimum. Investment management is included at every level. A $300 enrollment fee applies and is waived when you pay annually rather than monthly.

If you want your portfolio managed, buy Facet and stop reading comparisons. Core is the tier most people should take: the jump to Plus is really a jump to tax filing and equity compensation, so it earns its $2,900 difference only if you have RSUs, an option grant, or a return complicated enough that you already pay someone to file it. Complete is for concentrated stock positions and direct indexing, which is a narrow group. The tier question matters less than the prior one, though, which is whether you are hiring an advisor to manage assets or to help you build a plan. Those are different purchases at very different prices.

Facet's own pricing changes without notice. Check Facet's pricing page before deciding.

Where Facet genuinely shines

Facet does something Planned does not: it manages your money. Every tier includes investment management at no extra percentage, which is the part most people are really buying when they hire an advisor, and it comes with tax-loss harvesting and, higher up, direct indexing. Its CFP® professionals are salaried rather than commissioned, so nobody is nudging you toward a product that pays them. The flat fee is genuinely fairer than the standard 1 percent of assets once your portfolio passes roughly $260,000, and it stops growing as you do. If you want a fiduciary holding the wheel on your portfolio, that is a real service and Facet delivers it.

You may be paying for asset management you do not need yet

Facet's price is built around managing a portfolio. If you have one worth managing, that is money well spent. If your actual problem is that you do not have a plan, that your spending and saving are not aligned to your goals, and that you want a professional to talk it through with, you are paying advisory-scale fees for the part of the service you use least. Planned's Coach plan is $1,980 a year for direct messaging with a CFP® professional plus a monthly video call, built on a 10-area financial plan and a health score drawn from your real accounts. It does not manage your investments, and it is not trying to. The honest split is that Facet is priced for someone with assets to hand over, and Planned is priced for someone still building them.

What each one costs

Planned

AI plan: $14.99/mo or $99.99/yr with a 7-day free trial on annual. Messaging plan: $49/mo or $480/yr, adding a human financial coach over messaging with replies within 2 business days. Coach plan: $199/mo or $1,980/yr, working 1:1 with a CFP® professional through a monthly 30-minute video call and messaging with replies in under 24 hours Mon–Fri. Both coaching plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Facet

Facet is $2,600, $5,500 or $8,700 a year depending on tier, flat, with investment management included at every level and no stated account minimum. A $300 enrollment fee is waived when you pay annually.

Planned does not manage investments. If portfolio management is what you are shopping for, Facet is the more complete purchase.
